Four generations

A working orchard, a mile from downtown.

We’ve been growing pears and plums in Auburn, California since 1918, when George Boorinakis purchased the property on which our farm is located today.

Now, four generations later, we are still a small family owned and operated business — and we are passionate about keeping it that way.

Most people driving through Auburn have no idea there is a century-old orchard about a mile from downtown. There is. The stand is on Dairy Road, it runs on the honour system, and the fruit was picked up the hill from where you’re standing.

We’re a registered organic farm, committed to incorporating sustainable farming practices — and because we’re local, our produce is never transported over long distances or kept in cold storage.

What we grow

Picked ripe, sold within walking distance of the trees it came off. Availability follows the season — call or email if you’re after a quantity of something.

Pears

The reason the ranch exists. Grown here since 1918 — and sold for canning and juicing by the box.

One of the specialty items worth calling ahead for. They do not last long.

Did you know that honey is a seasonal product? We harvest our wildflower honey from mid to late summer, when the bloom season ends.

We process it very minimally — without fine filtration or heat — and we sell most of it at stores and farmers’ markets within walking distance of our ranch. As local as you can get.
